I’m getting a bit obsessed with these Today’s Special Value things on QVC at the moment. They’re just such amazing value, and really the only way that I would buy luxury skincare and beauty. The current one features skinSense, which I’ve talked about loads before. I love the products, LOVE the beautiful packaging, and I don’t know about you, but the scent of the products I use is so important to me, and they always smell divine. This set is the skinSense retinol face & body collection, which is a really lovely luxury 5 piece skincare kit which would be a great introduction to the skinSense range. Also, individually, the products would set you back £159, so to get them at just £41.92 is pretty amazing.

This time of year comes around so fast, doesn’t it? We’ve got piles of stuff in the hall and I’ve got a bit of a lump in my throat because I know it will soon be time to say goodbye for another year, but it’s always mixed with that feeling of excitement, new beginnings and great times ahead. This list of student discounts started as a few notes for Charlie when he started uni, and ended up being a massive post with all sorts of information about student discounts, shopping, bank accounts, ID cards and more. As usual, you might be an old hand at this, in which case much of this won’t be news to you (thanks to the people who put ‘I knew all this already’ on my Facebook page last year - all the eye rolls for you), but you might also be a new student, so I’ve listed absolutely everything you need to know. Do remember that some of the discounts will only be about for a limited time, so if you’re thinking of buying something, it’s best to do it now. Remember, you need to prove you’re a student and the first thing you’ll need to do is register with the NUS here: National Union of Students.

From chatting to people who send me messages every time I post a Mindful Chef dinner on my social media (they’re obviously very popular - I always get a flurry whenever I mention them), it seems that people’s reasons for using a recipe box service can be as varied as the meals themselves. Recently I’ve had chats with people who were stupidly busy at work but still wanted to eat well, people who were trying to kick start themselves into a healthier eating regime, and - increasingly - people who are interested in eating less meat (for whatever reason). Think about it: if you’re planning dinner, most of you will generally have quite a few meat-based recipes that you cook on a regular basis (I would always fall back on chicken breast roasted with veg in the oven, a chilli, shepherds pie, that sort of thing), but if you’re making a change, you don’t have those recipes to hand, so it’s really helpful to get some veggie dinner inspo from Mindful Chef.

I’m off to Universal Orlando Resort next week (woohoo!) for the opening of Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and while it’s rather a flying visit, I’m hoping to see a bit of sunshine. I’m also really hoping for a lovely long, hot summer (where is the Daily Mail predicting a heatwave when you need one?). I’m a bit inspired by the lovely Erica Davies at the moment, who always rocks a gorgeous dress and loves colour and pattern (check out her fabulous Sunday styling Instagram stories for loads of inspiration) so rather than adopting my default uniform of denim shorts and a t-shirt, I’m planning to waft about in delicious dresses and sandals (okay, or maybe Converse) instead. Imagine receiving an email that says ‘hey, you’re into fitness - fancy coming to Antigua with Fleur East for the launch of a brand new fitness partnership?’. Well of course I said yes, and last week, we jetted off to the beautiful island of Antigua for a few days of workouts on the beach, and of course a little downtime in the sunshine too. So what was it all about? Well, Elite Island Resorts - a beautiful collection of beachfront resorts in the Caribbean, has teamed up with W8 GYM, a really clever, completely portable gym system created by the lovely Fleur East and her cousins Nick Meaney and Clive Payne. The exclusive partnership will see the W8 GYM being available at Elite Island Resorts locations in Antigua, St Lucia, Barbados (remember I went to their beautiful The Club Barbados resort for my singing holiday?) and The Grenadines, to use in-room, in the resort gym (where group lessons will be available) and even on the beach, if you fancy it. I adore France. I have so many happy memories, from family holidays in Brittany, my boys scoffing snails and jumping from the pier at Le Val André into the sea, to a gorgeously grown up break at a Chateaux on the Côte d’Azur. Mr E and I are always plotting a redo of our Parisian adventure and, of course, I’ve loved so many wonderful trips to Disneyland Paris. You know me, I love anything sustainable or eco-friendly. My obsession for a while has been searching for the perfect reusable bottle. I don’t know about you but I really struggle with night time skincare. I feel like I want to use a bit of a richer product at night, but I don’t want anything too heavy and greasy, and my skin can be a bit sensitive (oh, the horrible tingly pain of a recent dabble into Vitamin C). What I want at night is a lovely smelling, nourishing, soothing moisturiser so I wake up all plump skinned and happy. I was starting to think it was too much to ask, and then I discovered REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm and I’m completely addicted.
