What are the different staterooms like on AmaMagna?
Last time, I told you all about our gorgeous Christmas markets Danube cruise on board AmaWaterways’ revolutionary, double-width AmaMagna river ship. I thought I’d take the time to write a separate post about all the different AmaMagna stateroom categories, as there’s so much to tell you and I was conscious that the post was getting very long! So what are the different staterooms like on AmaMagna? Well, because there’s so much space, most of the staterooms (apart from a handful on deck 1) are suite class cabins. We explored the different stateroom categories so you can have a good look at all of them.

Beautiful AmaMagna in Budapest
Unfortunately the 700 sq ft Owner’s Suite was occupied so we couldn’t have a nosey around, but whether you’re staying in a standard stateroom or the biggest suite, the decor is sumptuous and luxurious, and there are lovely touches as standard, including a 27″ iMac; an iPad to control the lighting mood, climate, etc in the room; and a whopping 42″ TV.

AmaMagna Grand Suite - we looked at stateroom 308
There are six Grand Suites on board, all on the Violin Deck (deck three, where you’ll also find the lounge, the Al Fresco restaurant to the forward part of the ship, and the spa and Zen Wellness Studio to the aft - rear - of the ship). Grand suites have absolutely tons of room: loads of storage, a huge bed that faces out towards the enormous balcony, a sofa that also faces out to the river, a TV that appears from the foot of the bed and then stores neatly away again, a gorgeous bath, double-width shower and sink… you name it.

AmaMagna Balcony Suite - Cello Deck - 218
I was lucky enough to be in a Balcony Suite on deck 2, where you’ll also find the lobby and reception area as well as the Main Restaurant. Again, the decor is unashamedly lavish, and again my suite was decorated in a rich palette of ochre, gold and purple. I love the way the huge bed is canopied with dark, slatted wood to give an almost four-poster feel. My roomy bathroom boasted not just a double marble sink, but a wide multi-jet rainfall shower, plus there’s a separate toilet.

AmaMagna Balcony Stateroom - Piano Deck - 233
There are standard balcony staterooms on both the Cello Deck (deck 2) and a few on the Piano Deck (deck 1) where you’ll also find The Chef’s Table and Jimmy’s Wine Bar, as well as the shop. The only real difference between the two is that the lower deck cabins have windows rather than a balcony. We found them to be impressively roomy and just as luxurious, with the same lovely toiletries and furnishings, just with single sinks and showers, an integrated bathroom/toilet, and a little less cabin space (but still on the large side for standard river cruise cabins, I think).
