As you can imagine, I travel quite frequently, and it occurs to me regularly that my fellow travellers tend to slot in to a few distinct types. Mr E is definitely the impatient traveller – he strides ahead, leaving me bumbling behind, and can’t bear to queue. I’m a bit more laid back, but I do like a pair of shoes or three, so maybe I’m the fashionista (monochrome of course, dahling). I wonder if you see yourself in any of these descriptions:
The Impatient Traveller
You’re all rush rush, hurry hurry – you don’t want to stand in the queue to check in and collect your tickets. Especially if the person in front of you has lost their wallet and is now tipping the contents of their bag out all over the floor (admit it, I bet you tut too). Time is money! You’re busy! You need to get going – absolutely NO loo breaks!
The ‘Where Are We Again?’ Traveller
Geography was never your strong point. You need a map. Wait, you need to be able to read a map. You don’t really see yourself as an explorer: you’ve chosen your destination and you just want to get there. You don’t want to find yourself miles away from the place you really want to be (take ‘London Luton Airport’ for example: it turns out that Luton’s nowhere near London – who knew?). You’re not really a ‘let’s just have a wander and see where we end up’ type person. Oh, and you don’t really want to have to ask for directions either (by the time they’ve done two lefts and a right you’ve forgotten anyway).
You need an outfit for every day. No, you need TWO outfits for every day, and then there’s shoes. Oh, and a handbag, probably several handbags. And don’t get me started on toiletries and makeup, and that cute wide-brimmed straw hat that’s so Instagrammable, you simply must take it… And what about the things you buy when you’re away? But then how do you squeeze that all in one 20kg case? It’s ridiculous!
The Techie Traveller
There’s an app for that and you’ve probably got it. You want to travel light and you want everything to be on your mobile, preferably sorted into those tiny folders on your home screen. You want to use your phone for booking AND paying. Wallets? They’re like SO year 2K. I bet you have an Apple Watch too.
Recognise yourself there? If any of these sound like you, you really need to watch this video, starring Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson. There’s a new way of travelling and it could be perfect for you, introducing Lintenair which has city centre terminals, no baggage weight restrictions and queue-free boarding. It is the future of travel and I am pretty excited about it so why not take a look and let me know what you think. More info coming on 11th May so watch this space!…
