I do love a little travel kit, don’t you? There’s something about teeny products that I love – they’re perfect for travel, or just popping in your handbag, and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this gorgeous hush x balance Me summer edit skincare set. I mean, as if the cute jelly watermelon pink limited edition pouch didn’t light your fire, they’ve only gone and covered it in palm print too. It’s like it was meant for me! Happily, the products inside are brilliant as well – I’m just discovering the Balance Me range and I’m loving everything about the botanically active products, most of which are 99%, if not 100% natural.
About Balance Me
If you don’t know much about the brand, it was founded by sisters Claire and Rebecca Hopkins and the ethos of the brand is something that really appeals to me. Balance Me promise 100% transparency, they always state the natural percentage and the products are free from parabens, dea, mineral oils, sulphates, microbeads and other nasties. Also, they never test on animals.
The products all smell delicious – I’ve been spritzing on the hyaluronic plumping mist (more of this in a sec) at my desk and it smells divine – plus they’re packed full of mood-boosting essential oils and contain no artificial colours.
The hush x Balance Me summer edit
You all know I love a bit of hush, so when I found out that Balance Me and hush had teamed up to create a gorgeous collection of products, I was desperate to get my hands on it. And it doesn’t disappoint. Starting with the cute, slightly rubbery feeling jelly bag with a chunky self coloured zip, which is a really good size, and which will be going straight into my handbag. There are six small travel sizes in the kit (I’ve linked to the full sized products) :
Pure skin face wash 40ml – this is a beaut little cleanser, sulphate free and gentle enough that it won’t strip your skin and leave it feeling dry and parched. The 40ml is a great size as well – generous enough to use every day on a two week holiday. I really like this and will definitely be buying the full size – it left my skin really soft.
Radiance face oil 10ml – apart from having just about the most heavenly scent on the planet, this 100% natural face oil is stuffed full of fatty acids and perfect for facial massage giving firmness and radiance to tired or dry skin. The little rollerball applicator on this size is genius as well.
Moisture rich face cream 20ml – I really liked this. Although it feels quite rich and creamy, it sinks in really well and doesn’t leave a greasy film on the skin (one of my pet hates). It’s full of antioxidants, is deeply hydrating and smells of roses too. Bonus. No SPF, though, so I’ve been slathering on after taking my makeup off at night.
Wonder eye cream 7ml – someone told me recently that you should apply eye cream as often as you apply lip balm, so I’ve had this little tube by my desk and have been patting it on every so often. It’s very plumping for crinkles and doesn’t sting even though it’s scented. Also, I think £20 for the full size is quite reasonable.
Congested skin serum 7ml – I can’t really comment on this one as I’m waaaay too old to get spots, but I passed it on to Charlie and he really likes it. It’s not ‘too perfumy’ and doesn’t dry your skin out too much. Apparently.
Hyaluronic plumping mist 5ml – I’ve been after a hyaluronic facial mist for absolutely ages after reading in a magazine about how lovely they are in the hot weather. What can I say? This is a hero product. It’s gorgeous to spray on before moisturising as a plumping extra layer, but it’s also lush to keep the little one on you and give yourself a quick spritz whenever you’re feeling hot and bothered or if your face is just feeling a bit dry (weirdly, my neck often feels dry so I’ve been spraying it there too). Apparently it’s got calming chamomile water and soothing and brightening pineapple extract. It didn’t seem to budge or affect my makeup, is so cooling and smells amazing. Absolutely love it.
