I’ve written before about how gorgeous our local Prezzo is. The staff are lovely, the atmosphere in the place is amazing (helped by an open kitchen featuring a massive pizza oven) and the food is consistently good. Last week we popped in to try the new summer sharing specials.
We started with the sharing platter (£15.95), which had all our favourite starters on: the delicious, crispy, stringy, yummy mozzarella in carozza with a tomato dip, lovely garlic bread with mozzarella cheese and caramelised onion, crisp calamari with pesto mayonnaise, rocket salad, olives, sun-dried tomatoes and little baby bruschettas with prosciutto, asparagus and grana padano cheese to sprinkle on (above). SO NICE! We actually fought over them.
Then Sam and I shared the light pasta option (we chose the spaghetti with king prawns and spaghetti with lobster) – both delicious – you also get a choice of salads with it (£18.95):
and Mr English shared the two light pizza option with Charlie (and added chips, of course):
It’s a really nice way to have a light, sociable meal together. Our lovely waiter did say if we didn’t think it would be enough he would bring us more (after looking at the size of my offspring, who could blame him?) but after the starters, and knowing that they’d be stuffing their faces with gelato too, it was more than enough.
Oh, one tip – try the Pimm’s sorbet. It’s delicious:
If all this isn’t enough to tempt you in (and it really should be), from now until Monday 8th September 2014, there’s a chance to win all sorts of lovely prizes with Prezzo’s ‘Let’s Get Together’ promotion. Just keep your receipt, then visit www.prezzoletsgettogether.co.uk and fill in your details. You can win all sorts of prizes, like Virgin Experience Days (or discounts off Experience Days) or a two course meal at Prezzo for two people.
But even if you don’t win, it’s worth it for that pasta. And, oh, that sorbet!
