Every time I go on holiday, I just bung my whole make-up bag in my suitcase, but honestly, once I’m there, I only use a tiny amount of it. This time, I decided that I was going to carry on the good work I’ve done with my capsule holiday wardrobe, by applying the same theory to my make-up bag.
The first thing that needed to go was foundation. It’s just too hot while you’re away for a full face of foundation, so my favourite one got left on the shelf at home. Instead, I packed a Sheer Cover Studio Conceal & Brighten Trio (I actually like their lightweight mineral foundation, which has got SPF in it as well, but I was being really firm with myself). The Conceal & Brighten Trio is in a handy compact and contains two creamy concealer shades and one brightener.
I just used my fingertips to pop a little bit of the paler shades onto the dreaded dark circles, and the darker one worked really well once I started to get a bit of a tan. It’s really blendable and lightweight and doesn’t go all cakey. The texture is quite creamy, but it dries really nicely so it’s not greasy and doesn’t ‘slip’.
The brightener is a great way to add a lovely sheen to brow bones and cheek bones and looks amazing once you’ve got a bit of a holiday glow. I actually used a dab on the inner corners of each eye too, just to open my eyes. I finished off with a quick brush of bronzer, and a couple of layers of mascara and that was it. I took a lip balm for the day and a red lipstick for the evenings and that was it. Really easy holiday beauty.
