As you know, every year I try and remind myself that life should be about snapshots, and not about stuff. When we’re old and grey, we won’t look back on our lives and remember that nice sofa we bought in the sales in 2015 (ahem), we’ll remember time spent with family and friends, visiting incredible places and enjoying new experiences.
Last year, when my bestie Erica and her beautiful girl came down to visit from Edinburgh, we decided to take a walking tour of London, but not just any tour, a Cupcake and Macaron walking tour. The tours are held in small groups with a guide (ours was called Siddy and was absolutely lovely) and take you all round London to sample various delights as you go.
We started as we meant to go on in Covent Garden with macarons at Ladurée:
After this, we wandered to BB’s Bakery, all the time learning about the history of the area. We stopped for a nose around the beautiful cake selection, and obviously to scoff another cake – this time a delicious, raspberry filled mini cupcake:
