So here’s the first of a little series of gift guides. This one is Christmas gifting for her and, ok, I’ll admit it. I do kind of use these gift guides as a little Christmas wishlist for Mr E and the boys. Let’s face it, if they can open the blog and see something beautiful here to buy me, plus I get to share my ideas with you as shopping inspiration, it’s a win/win. Talking of gifts, I was recently asked by the lovely Sam over at I’m Sam Squire to contribute an idea for his Hopeless Man’s Gift Guide (his words not mine), and, as always, I shared my favourite gifting advice: if you haven’t been asked for something specific, it’s best to choose something that’s beautiful and useable (or indeed edible). So if you’re not exactly certain about the taste of the lady in question, it’s a good tip to stick to something like deliciously scented candles (see my guide to festive candles here), or bath and body products (and definitely not lingerie if you even remotely have to guess the size).
Still, if you know your lady love like the back of your hand (or she writes a blog where she leaves you glaring hints as to what she might like for Christmas), then I’ve got lots of lovely ideas for wonderful, thoughtful gifts for her.
Of course, you might know that she favours a certain perfume or a particular brand of moisturiser, and then you can really up your pressie giving to a whole new level by maybe splashing out on the luxurious body crème in the same fragrance, or the eye cream from the same beauty range. Creative and thoughtful, aren’t you?!
I love a thoughtful gift set and this Clarins Double Serum collection set ticks all the boxes, being useful, luxurious and glamorous. I know Uggs can be a bit ‘man repeller’, but they’re warm and comfy to wear around the house, and they last forever: Ugg classic short boot If the lady in your life loves food, then The Christmas Chronicles by Nigel Slater is an absolutely beautiful read: part festive cookbook, part memoir, part travel guide – it’s a lovely Christmas keepsake.
Hotel hairdryers are always rubbish, so this ghd Flight limited edition Nocturne travel hairdryer is the perfect gift for anyone that loves to travel. If you’re looking for a classically romantic gift, you can’t go far wrong with Chanel’s beautiful new sparkling floral, Gabrielle Chanel . These hush mini tassel earrings are a delicate way to embrace the trend for tassel earrings. This Christmas, REN have announced a new design collaboration with Silken Favours for their gifting sets. The boxes are covered in sweet, hand drawn prints. I love this REN night-time favourites gift set.
NEOM have produced some gorgeous Wellbeing Street gift sets this year. This sweet Neom home of sleep collection contains a bath & shower oil, pillow mist and hand balm all in a delicious sleep-inducing mix of 19 pure essential oils including English lavender, sweet basil and jasmine. I’ve been using this gorgeous organic Bowe Organics lash oil for a few weeks now and my lashes feel thicker and glossier – I’ve been using it on my eyebrows too. Lovely stuff. Last but not least, I love a travel wallet and this Aspinal of London classic travel wallet comes in loads of different finishes and colours.
Next up, bits for the boys. Happy shopping!
