Now as I’ve told you before, I’m a jeans and jumpers girl (shorts and t-shirts in the summer). I’ve got a few lovely events coming up, though, that are going to require poshing up a bit, so whilst lusting after all the new snuggly autumn stuff, I’ve got my eye out for a few smart bits and bobs too. John Lewis have just launched their autumn fashion magazine too – so here’s the top five things on my wishlist (when I’ve finally started stocking the EU pasta mountain and buying things like Oyster Cards for Sam):
Structured, smart, ladylike and bang on trend for a/w 2014. Adorable.
I live and die in skinny jeans, and I’ve been after the perfect dark grey pair for ages. I love how these have been smartened up with a tailored jacket.
Big, squishy and practical but given a hint of luxe with this lovely vintagey distressed silver finish. I love this so much I’m actually debating selling a kidney. It would be perfect with my favourite LBD.
I just can’t walk in spindly heels, but I love the elegance they add to an outfit. I’m wondering if these, with a slightly chunkier heel, would enable me to walk slightly less like a giraffe…
A slightly smarter version of my usual snuggly jumper – I love the three quarter sleeves and the slightly shorter cut. I actually think it would look gorgeous with the ribbon skirt.
So there you have it. Will I drag myself kicking and screaming into smarter clothes this winter? Or will you still find me in Uggs and a big sloppy jumper in a few month’s time?
Watch this space.
