ENGLISH MUM IN THE PRESS

Win a fabulous KitchenAid blender from Yeo Valley!

The lovely chaps at Yeo Valley are always coming up with nice ways to use their 100% yeoganic yogurts.  Recently they’ve been dabbling in smoothies (ooer) and have come up with some fab yogurty recipes – perfect for breakfast times, especially if you’re in a hurry, trying to be a bit healthier, or even just not mad keen on eating breakfast.

There’s a delicious apple and cinnamon smoothie (apple pie in a glass!) and an elderflower and passion fruit smoothie, amongst others.

Such is the SHEER EXCITEMENT at the new smoothies down in the Yeo Valley, they’ve decided that they want everyone making them and have teamed up with the wondrous KitchenAid.  From this weekend, you’ll be able to find a special code on promotional pots of Yeo Valley’s Natural and Fruited Big Pot Yeogurts which can be entered into Yeo Valley’s website or Facebook page. 1,000 (I know, right? 1000!) lucky people will win KitchenAid artisan blenders, and there are 10,000 gadget sets  (they include a whisk, peeler, can-opener, ice cream scoop and spatula) too.

If you’re not one of the lucky ones, I’ve snaffled an extra blender away for you, my dearest reader.  Just leave a comment. Any comment (tell me what smoothies you like… what you have for breakfast, hell, you can even tell me what colour drawers you have on… whatever takes your fancy) and one lucky person will be chosen at random to win the blender.

The small print: This competition ends on Monday 9th July.  Winner will be chosen at random after this date and will receive one Empire Red KitchenAid blender.  UK only. No cash alternative.

************THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED – WELL DONE TO ‘ANONOMUM’!!****************

Almost didn’t enter as I really want a KitchenAid mixer and if I won this then I might do myself out of a future chance to win one of those…(girl logic) but since it’s so red and lovely… I feel obliged to tell you what I had for breakfast but instead I’m going to tell you my favourite soup as that’s what I’d make if I won the blender… so… one my mum used to make ‘Cream of Christmas Soup’ – shove all Christmas leftovers in a pan and blitz!

  2. Diane Goodwin says:

Ok I’m in! My favourite smoothie is banana, ginger, strawberry with wholemeal & honey. Would put hairs on your chest but it’s pretty awesome.

It was described on menu board as a vitamin booster, and by jove did it ever help my throat. Blueberries, blackberries, Strawberries and Raspberries in apple juice with ice and some other additional good for you malarky however it was so soothing that I would love to be able to re-create it for myself …if only I had a beautiful blender ;-)

    Dearest English Mum,

I would very much like to win this KitchenAid Blender, as it would go very nicely with my KitchenAid Artisan, and also it would settle a long standing dispute with my wife….when i purchased my artisan, she thought there was a blender with it..(such an expensive mixer must have a blender….) I never corrected her, as she never asked…now i have my mixer, but i may have with held certain info to get it……

Basically if i win this blender, you will make my marriage better*.

Then there’s soups for the winter, gazpacho for the summer, pancake mix, sauces, dips…. ahhh the list is endless!
Unfortunately, all this is done in my mini chopper so is often a messy process because my belly doesn’t understand the word STOP!
So i would love this booootiful shiny blender to bring me into the 21st century and not be the out dated laughing stock of all my other kitchen gadgets. (They can be so mean!)

Thankyou muchly, Sophie Rae aka muffintops88

Wow, I’d love one of those! I’ve got a book full of smoothies and one full of soups that I’ve not used at all yet cause I haven’t got a blender. That’s my excuse anyway! If I won, I’d HAVE to start trying those recipes :)

  146. Aideen says:

Oh want! My five year old is earning “comic money” helping her granny pick gooseberries in their garden for jam (child labour due to small fingers!), don’t know if they’d make a good smoothie, but I’m willing to try!

  147. Angela Feenan says:

This blender would look so at home in my kitchen & my 7 children would make sure it got used every day for smoothies, breakfast, lunch & dinner time ;-) yah!

  148. rachel says:

Banana, oats and vanilla yogurt. Yum. Underwear has to be white, and ooo that blender is a beautiful thing :)

  149. dawn regan says:

lets see now….lets all hail the “summer” weather (not) and go for a strawberry, raspberry, blueberry crushed ice and natural yoggy to make us get in the mood for the long school holidays, and if nothing else, will keep us healthy and our bowels moving hehe

  150. Ann says:

With 4 children, smoothies are a fab way of getting enough fruit into them, especially the fussy ones – I’d LOVE a new KitchenAid blender to go with my new kitchen – work starts in 3 weeks time and will last for 6, so it would be fab to have something wonderful to put on top of my new (duck egg blue) drawers. Especially something that allows me to make something healthy for the children, and a bit more interesting for the stressed out grown ups!

  151. I’m thinking cocktails, smoothies and most importantly banana milkshakes!
My girls would love us to win this…think of all the smoothie concoctions we could whizz up (and some with some alcohol in for Mummy!)

  152. OMG I could so do with a new blender, my other one broke a month ago… :( Now you will laugh but I like green smoothies – avocado, frozen banana, spinach, pear, water – sounds awful but tastes really good :) x

  153. Lou Ireland says:

Well I love icecream or frozen yoghurt in my smoothies – yumsies!
Can’t wait until my little boy is old enough to slurp on some inventive smoothies :)
    x

  154. Nicola Richardson says:

LOVE Smoothies but loving the idea that I could make a few cheeky cocktails in it :0)

  155. Rubbish Wife says:

We are sadly lacking in smoothies since the demise of my old blender due to Alpha Male’s inability to operate kitchen machinery without breaking it.
However, I am partial to a lunch in a glass consisting of a milk, a vanilla yoghurt, a handful of mixed berries and a small banana. Delicious.
May have to redecorate my kitchen if I win ;-)

  156. alice says:

Strawberries and ‘nanas for me. Love it! Oh, and no drawers – am always in a pj for brekkie as 3 small pre-school kids don’t need clothes that early (or, indeed, at all, on some days!)

  157. Kerry says:

Oooh! How about blackberry and elderflower in a smoothie? Loving the fab red :)

  158. Really hoping Helen’s brown pants aren’t as a result of her smoothie…

Mango and banana for me :-)

  159. mummytravels says:

Anything without bananas in (so almost always have to make my own). Suspect my future holds a lot of less exciting blending too, thanks to the imminent newborn!

  160. Erica says:

Oh this would look nice in my new kitchen!

I don’t like smoothies but Erin and Alex do so I could def make some for them.

I’m thinking I could use to make strawberry daquiris :)

  161. HELEN says:

ooh lovely prize! any kind of berries in my smoothies….& brown pants!

    • Kathleen Doran says:

my kids love fruit, but I have tried to get them to eat smoothies (made with my cheapo hand blender) to no avail! Maybe with this gorgous appliance (which probably comes with a recipe book), I could organise a smoothie session with my little darlings, and convert them! ps I love-em!
