Hello! If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ll know that I’ve just spent a brilliant week with Virgin Holidays at Elite Island Resort’s The Club, Barbados, singing my heart out in the most amazing choir. Much more of that very soon (and more about the gorgeous resort as well), but for this weekend’s wishlist, I just wanted to tell you why Ultrasun should be in your beach bag (and on your face!) this summer.
I know I’ve talked about it before, but the Ultrasun range is such great quality. I use the Ultrasun SPF 30 Face tinted anti-ageing sun protection every day, but while I was away, I was using a foundation brush to apply even coverage to my face (something I’ve seen Tanya Burr do with her tinted moisturiser), then leaving it to sink in a bit while I did my hair, then finishing with a sweep of bronzing powder and some waterproof mascara. Perfect for an everyday holiday look, and proving really good protection for your face every day when you’re at home too. Ultrasun’s face formulas have high UVA & UVB filters, and this magical ingredient, Ectoin, which is an anti-ageing marine enzyme only regulated for use in a few really quality brands, like La Mer and Shiseido.
For protecting my body on the beach, I love the Ultrasun glimmer SPF products, that give your skin a lovely sheen. You need to apply them half an hour before you go in the sun, to give yourself full protection, and remember to be generous (it’s easier when you’re in the privacy of your own bathroom to make sure you don’t miss any bits as well).
I’m a bit paranoid about ageing hands, so I definitely recommend the amazing Ultrasun SPF hand cream, which is anti-pigmentation, has a really nice texture and doesn’t leave your hands greasy. When you think about it, you apply your SPF, then immediately wash your hands, making them vulnerable to sun damage, so an SPF hand cream is really useful.
Last but not least is the amazing Ultrasun Cooling & Moisturising after sun cream, which has a light, almost gel texture that’s really quickly absorbed, and is so soothing after a day in the sunshine (especially, if, like me, you get attacked my mozzies – the Aquarix complex in the cream has a lovely cooling effect, which really calmed the itchy/burny sensation and helped me not to scratch them!
You can find a wide range of Ultrasun products at John Lewis, and they’re often sold on QVC in their ‘special value’ offers, with maybe a couple of different products being offered at a really good price. Such a great investment for your skin.
Enjoy the sunshine!
