I adore winter dressing! No worries about whether you’re showing knobbly knees or less-than-perfect upper arms: it’s all about snuggly jumpers, soft textures, boots and tights. Hurrah! Some of my favourite outfits recently have been deliciously easy and wintery: a soft, bronze pleated skirt with a black roll neck jumper and boots, and leather leggings teamed with a crisp, white shirt and a slouchy grey jumper (and topped off with a gorgeous black teddy bear coat). For me, it seems so much less complicated to put together a great outfit at this time of year. I love hush for good quality, wearable style, and the new hush winter 17 collection has some delicious pieces. Here are some of my favourites:
A soft, flattering skirt in a rich fabric is one of my absolute must haves this winter. They’re so easy to wear and you can dress them up and down. This Marina skirt hangs beautifully, with the soft, velour stripes giving it extra weight. It’s got a simple elastic waistband and – pockets! Love it.
hush do a statement knit so well and the rock and roll jumper is an absolute cracker. It’s sold out in loads of sizes already, so if you’re anything other than a medium, you’ll have to keep an eye out for it coming back into stock. The relaxed fit makes it bum-skimming (and therefore mega flattering) and slogan tees are everywhere this season. Perfection.
If you’re a cashmere lover (and why wouldn’t you be? It’s super soft, warm and lightweight), hush is the place to shop (they use great quality grade 1 Mongolian cashmere). Properly looked after, cashmere is a great investment as it will look gorgeous for years. With cashmere, I think it’s important to go for classic shapes and styles that won’t date, like this boyfriend fit roll neck jumper:
Or invest in a gorgeous, snuggly scarf or shawl that you’ll keep coming back to every winter. I love this extra soft charcoal marl cashmere shawl – and there’s currently £10 off 10 different scarves at the moment too.
The £10 off also includes this lovely, chunky knit Fiona scarf (now £39) that you can see here paired with this gorgeous wool biker jacket. I love this idea – I know loads of you swear by your leather biker jacket, but I just don’t find leather jackets wearable, so this is a great way to rock the look, and I love the faux fur trim too:
And lastly – I know they’re not new, but I can’t talk about hush and winter without mentioning those fabulous leather leggings.
I know, they’re £345, but they’re on my wishlist. They’re super soft and have a lovely wide waistband, which makes them really comfortable (check out my pic from last year here) and they just look absolutely amazing (check out the effortlessly stylish Amanda from The Online Stylist rocking hers in Venice last week):
Top tip, though: if, like me, you’re saving up for your hush leather leggings, a really good dupe are the leather look leggings from Next (£28) which fit really well, are nice and soft and not too shiny.
Ooh, and also, if you’re in London or visiting over the festive period, hush will be hosting a pop up store in Bloomsbury to celebrate the launch of their AW17 Partywear collection and new Christmas gifts. Visit between 14th November and 10th December to shop ‘studio 54’ inspired partywear collection and browse a selection of Christmas gifts too – all available to order in-store for next day delivery complete with complimentary gift wrapping.
