Are we allowed to talk about spring yet? I’m SO ready. I’m one of those people who loves to have something to look forward to, and at the moment, it’s new buds on the trees, longer days, beams of sunlight shining through the window, and maybe even a little bit of spring cleaning. To inspire us, I’ve chosen a few fresh new interior pieces from M&S in a pretty palette of blue and white, which should help to cheer up even the most miserable of January mornings!
Fresh new interior pieces from M&S
You don’t have to spend a fortune to refresh your home – it can be as easy as a set of fluffy new white towels in the bathroom, packing away the winter bedlinen (sob!), a couple of green houseplants in pretty pots or a a few bright new cushions on the sofa. Pack away the Christmas mugs, pop some fresh flowers in a pretty vase and hey presto – spring has sprung (well, indoors at least).
Beautiful bathroom touches
Nothing brightens up a bathroom quicker than a pile of super fluffy, pure Egyptian cotton white towels. I love the idea of making your bathroom feel like a luxury spa by adding some new toiletries. Go one step further and add a reed diffuser with a gorgeous scent so you’re enveloped in fragrance every time you set foot in the door (I love the fresh, green neroli, lime and basil range).
I love bedlinen with interesting texture. I think this delicious, sustainable cotton seersucker set will feel fresh and modern. I’m tempted by the white but if, like me, you’re thinking it might not be practical, it comes in a divine duck egg blue too, as well as a pretty, peachy cream.
A splash of colour
I’m SO excited, because we’ve finally ordered the velvet sofa that I’ve been so desperate for in the kitchen (I’ve gone for a piece from the LOFT range, which is very modern and Scandinavian in feel – more of this very soon!). There are some gorgeous new cushions in M&S and I’m really drawn to the fresh blues, which are perfect for spring. I love this hexagonal embroidered cushion (top left, £29.50), which would make a great statement piece on a plain sofa, and I’m always drawn to linen – generally grey linen, which has a nice, Scandi feel, but this blue is lovely too (top right, £19.50). This abstract striped cushion (bottom left £19.50) reminds me of the seaside, and this crescent chevron cushion (bottom right, £19.50) feels really modern too.
Fresh flowers and pretty new kitchen updates
You know I love my trip to the flower man at the market on Saturdays. At the moment I’m drawn to lush, green foliage, particularly eucalyptus for its lovely, spa-like scent. I’ll definitely be buying this chunky blue glass apothecary vase (also top – it comes in smaller sizes and clear and green too).
And finally in the kitchen, I’m embracing a bit of mix and match, blending in a couple of new pieces to add some texture and colour. I’m especially loving anything slightly wonky or rustic looking at the moment. Check out the retreat range – it’s all glorious and very Instagrammable (sorry). The pieces are available in beige, grey and this sumptuous, rich greeny blue. I want it all, which is too matchy matchy, so I’m trying to control myself.
