Now I know I said recently that my obsession with all things cute and floral was fleeting, but there’s so much lovely stuff in the shops at the moment, I fear my monochrome madness might have to be put on hold for a while longer. Everywhere I look there’s embroidery and splashes of colour, and as the sun has come out at least twice, and a lot of us are planning our summer getaways, it just somehow seems right. Here’s my weekend wishlist of flirty florals:
Firstly, a few people have been asking about the top in my Twitter avatar (it’s this one from Zara – actually listed as a dress but it has quite high splits up the side and is rather short so I layered it over white jeans). I don’t always think that Bardot tops are hugely flattering, but this one sits high on the shoulders and doesn’t reveal too much flesh. Also the material is lovely, it’s really thick which makes the whole thing hang really well.
I’m loving Mango at the moment, and this blouse has everything: stripes, embroidery and it’s off the shoulder. Just perfect for holidays and sunny days:
Ooh and check out this bargainous, and very pretty Elia open shoulder dress from Anthropologie – perfect for summer parties and weddings, and currently in the sale at just £35 reduced from £98 with all sizes currently available .
Also from Mango, this floral halter jumpsuit is everything (and so far away from stuff I would usually like, but for some reason I’m completely drawn to it). Again, I’m thinking summer drinks, weddings, balmy holiday evenings… The material looks lovely and flowy, and sometimes you just want a maxi, or something to cover up your legs, but still want to feel summery. I’m so close to ordering it, just to see what it’s like on:
Next is absolutely smashing it at the moment. My Next delivery man is currently working overtime as I keep spotting things I like (and I’ve paid for the unlimited delivery thingy too). I blame the lovely Sara from Wellies and Champagne for these, as she featured them on her Instagram and reassured me that they’re really comfortable and easy to walk in (they really are). Grab these quickly as I have a feeling they won’t last long:
If you’re a Boden fan, you’ll know about the Boden Icons range – I think this might be their third year now – it’s a small, high end collection of pieces celebrating the best of British design and craftsmanship, with bespoke prints and sumptuous fabrics. There are some particularly nice items in this collection: floaty dresses and yes, another floral jumpsuit, but I’m really drawn to this elegant Grace floral silk shirt (there’s also a beautiful midi dress in the same print). I think it’s often really difficult to find a special top to wear with jeans or trousers, when a simple tee just won’t do. I’m a huge fan of the crisp white shirt, as you know, but this just takes it to the next level:
And finally, slightly cheating now, as it’s a fruit rather than a flower, but there’s no way I could leave out this divine pineapple swimsuit from Banana Moon at Carla Bikini (so excited that I’ve teamed up with this totally to-die-for brand – see my sidebar for a special code to save 10% on orders over £100).
