I’ve got so much stuff to tell you!, I’ve got all the goss and the new products from all the Christmas in July press days (moving Christmas trees – you heard it here first), and then there’s the day I spent with my lovely Dad in his garden (he’s very well and still as feisty as ever – update soon), and the amazing tea I had with a new friend at The Grove – so much writing to do – not that I’m complaining of course 🙂
First, though, did I mention ages ago that I did one of those colour consultation things? The advice I received was basically life changing: for my colouring, I should always pick the softer option of any of the colours I want to wear, so: black? Pick grey instead. Navy? Think a dustier blue, or soft turquoise. Red? Pick coral or pink. I still follow these rules all the time and at the moment, it’s all about the summery coral. So what exactly IS coral? Well think orange, but with a slightly pinkish tinge to it. If you’re pale and interesting (heh) like me, it’s the perfect flattering shade for lips, nails and, well, just about anything else really. It reminds me of holidays and beaches and cocktails (and you know I love all those things).
I’m trying to give my nails a break from gels for a few weeks and am absolutely loving Chanel’s classic Le Vernis nail varnish in ‘Espadrilles’ – I’ve worn nothing else so far this summer. There’s also a slightly more pinky coral called ‘Turban’.
Or to the more peachy end of the spectrum, I’ve just bought this cute little playsuit from Hollister:
Also you know I’m obsessed with everything hush, and I’ve been wearing their Stella jumper to death – it’s SO soft and the colour is just gorgeous, and OMG they have the BEST sale at the moment – check out the bargains.
And it’s not just about nails and clothes – coral is so flattering on the face as well. You can’t beat a lovely, dewy coral cream blush either. I like Clarins cream blush in 01 peach:
I’m obsessed with coral coloured flowers too. Sadly the beautiful peonies (above) are now finished, but how about this DIVINE bouquet from Bloom and Wild? The La Belle roses are the palest, blush coral colour – just so divinely pretty. By the way, if you order some of their very lovely and clever letterbox flowers, you get 10% off your first delivery. Just click here: Bloom and Wild – Flower Delivery.
Ahhh utterly gorgeous. Simple pleasures 🙂
