Last week while we were enjoying our week at Walt Disney World before Saturday Night Takeaway, we spent at least a couple of our free afternoons at Disney Springs (oh, how I wish I had a Disney Springs near me – I’d be poor, but so happy). There are so many shops there that I adore: Anthropologie, Kate Spade, the awesome Havaianas shop and – oh my goodness – the biggest Zara you’ve ever clapped eyes on. You know when you go shopping sometimes and you just love everything in a certain shop? It feels like it’s all just made especially for you? Well that’s exactly how I felt. Generally, as you know, I’m all sensible and minimalist, but there’s obviously something about shopping while it’s sunny and warm outside that changes my shopping personality, and I found myself rather taken by quite a lot of the items currently in the shops – things that I can only describe as – well – some kind of Spring cuteness overload: Bardot necklines, Self Portrait-esque lace, ruffles, and stripes (ruffles and stripes together!).
And also, take this jumpsuit (thought it was a dress at first but no, there are definitely shorts under there) for example: still black so it will go with all the other items in my wardrobe, but then… woah! Look at all that beautiful embroidery – and for £29.99 too. I’m not a pantsuit kind of person per se, but I could definitely be persuaded with this one – it looks so flattering and (sorry) cute!
Update: I bought this – it’s just as lovely and flattering on, and it’s online and in all sizes now!
And a more detailed bit of online browsing this week has uncovered some other absolute cuties as well, like this embroidered little smocked sundress from M & S – just perfect for holidays: throw on a straw hat and some white converse and you’re good for sightseeing, or some little slides and a bikini and it’s the perfect beach outfit too. Love.
There’s so much lace and broderie about as well. I think this floral lace top from Boden is utterly adorable, and it’s the kind of top you could wear on holiday with shorts, out to dinner with some plain black trousers, to work with a pencil skirt – it’s multi-talented (I love it here with the shorts best of all though):
Update: OMG this has already sold out since I drafted this earlier this week! The Jennifer top is a good alternative and still in stock – hopefully there’s more coming!
Also I love this little hush Bella skort – not exactly a skirt, but not exactly shorts (which are SO hard to wear, don’t you think?) and it’s just £25 in their spring sale and still available in all sizes (sale on until midnight on Sunday).
And look, I promise not to talk about Spring cuteness anymore, but honestly, check out these little slides from Zara (above – I think the fact that they’re officially called ‘multi fruit slides‘ makes me love them more). Think of them as Carmen-Miranda style adornment for your tootsies. Adorable right? They’re the perfect, fun, comfy addition to every holiday wardrobe. I mean come on: sequins and teeny tiny bananas – they have everything!
Normal service will be resumed next weekend. I promise.
