The best thing about winter when you work from home is being able to snuggle up in a lovely warm jumper, light a candle that smells of Christmas pudding, make yourself a hot chocolate with extra marshmallows and sit in front of the fire all day, with a warm whippet for company. Unfortunately the aforementioned whippet also needs to stretch her legs, so my day is broken up with a couple of frosty walks, which actually I don’t mind, as long as I’m well wrapped up.
I’ve been searching for a really good parka for ages. A lot of them seem to be a bit ‘style over substance’ and I really need something properly windproof and waterproof for walking the dog. This Craghoppers Ilkley parka has classic parka style with a really soft, thick Sherpa fleece lining and is impressively waterproof. It’s the perfect length and has loads of pockets for treats and poo bags too. The ribbed inner collar makes it really snug and the fur lined hood actually stays up. It’s also not horribly heavy, even though it’s really warm, so you don’t feel like you’re walking wrapped in a massive duvet. And as if I need proof it was ‘the real deal’, it’s being coveted by both the boys too – something that rarely happens with anything their parents wear, as you can imagine.
The jumper you can see peeking out there is the deliciously snuggly Ivy jumper from hush, who have got free delivery and free returns at the moment (code: WINTER15):
(the leather-look leggings are from Next and I highly recommend them – very comfy). Of course for proper snuggliness you need a really good base layer and I swear by these hush second skin crew t-shirts, which are a good length and feel really soft. They also wash really well:
Boden have 30% OFF EVERYTHING (code 7H9S) until Monday, and have all sorts of snuggliness for sale, including their gorgeous loungewear. These cosy slim joggers fit really nicely (I hate big flappy, wide leg joggers) and there’s even a navy glitter snowflake option if you’re feeling festive:
They also have the most flipping adorable kids’ stuff, including this gorgeous little festive knitted dress which is under £20 in the sale!
I’m loving massive, oversized scarves at the moment as well and I’ve just bought this one from ASOS which is a snip at £18.
I’m off Christmas shopping with my mum tomorrow and will be looking for more snuggly stuff, and the odd Christmas present too, but I’ll be putting a nice big order in at Boden too – can you believe that 30% off? What are you waiting for? Get shopping!
