It’s been a mad week here at English Towers. The Sainsbury’s #loveyourfreezer campaign has gone live and it’s been really lovely receiving tweets, texts and Facebook messages (and AWFUL screenshots – thanks guys haha) saying ‘ooh, I’ve just seen you on the telly!’. I’m SO proud of this campaign – Sainsbury’s have been amazingly lovely to work with, and there are loads more exciting things coming up.
If you’re interested in the #loveyourfreezer campaign, it’s worth heading to sainsburys.co.uk/freezer where you’ll find loads of recipes and tips for getting the most out of your freezer, as well as my ridiculous banana ice cream video – the one where I just COULDN’T get myself together (it was the end of a very long day) and the lovely, patient crew had to endure take after take because I just couldn’t seem to string a sentence together!
In other news, we’ve been working hard on Charlie’s room, trying to make it a really modern, calm space for him to spend time in. Working on A levels is stressful and we really wanted to make it a room that he loves and enjoys spending time in. We spend AGES shopping for paint colours, and ended up deciding on grey walls, with a feature purple wall (it’s a Crown Indulgence paint called ‘Prom Night’ – isn’t it amazing? It looks really velvety on the wall):
In kitten news, little Tails the Maine Coon is settling in well. We’re obviously supervising time with Lyra until she’s used to him, but they seem to be getting on reasonably well. The only worry point is when they start running around together – Tails is so tiny (but feisty) and we’re worried he’ll get squashed. It all gets a bit Tom and Jerry, with lots of chasing and tail biting. He seems to be holding his own so far, and when this happens, all the hassle is worthwhile. I hope they’ll grow to become great friends:
Yesterday, I had lunch in London with my lovely Royal Caribbean Royal Mums (missing Karin, who sadly couldn’t join us, and Laura, who missed her train, and seems to have some kind of curse where travel is concerned!). We dined at Hix Soho and the food was incredible – I highly recommend it – check out my delicious buttermilk fried squid with blood orange and chilli:
Have a wonderful weekend, whatever you’re doing! Let me know if you’re doing anything nice. I’ll be chilling out and doing a bit of baking 🙂
