Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to Skye Gyngell’s gorgeous (and aptly named) Spring restaurant at Somerset House in London for the prettiest of breakfasts to celebrate the launch of the new hush spring 2018 collection. With fresh petal colours, delicate prints and new twists on some of my favourite pieces, I could very easily have packed the whole lot up and taken it home with me. Read on for a look at that beautiful breakfast and a peek at some of the pieces that caught my eye.
Pretty pastels abound
If you’re a regular here, you’ll know that I’m a monochrome gal at heart, but there’s something about this time of year that makes me want to dive into a completely new palette of fresh, pretty colours.
I love this wildflower hibiscus print, which is available in a soft, swishy Tabitha maxi (which I think is utterly perfect paired with a simple white tee and trainers in the photo):
It’s also available in the Tabitha maxi dress, which has completely and unexpectedly stolen my heart. The elasticated waist is mega flattering if you sometimes feel a bit swamped in a maxi, and the elbow length sleeves are a lovely detail too:
My hero pieces
This season, I love so much that I’ve really struggled to pick a few hero pieces that really reflect the feel of the collection, but this gorgeous, flowy colourblock pleated skirt caught my eye (those colours!):
As did this soft, ‘love saves the day’ jumper, with a sweet slogan in a fresh, green embroidery in a lighter, cotton mix knit:
Talking of embroidery, how could you not love these embroidered, relaxed jeans, they’re in a lovely quality denim, with a relaxed fit, cropped just above the ankle and have a sweet ‘love saves the day’ embroidered seam down the edges.
Brand new wardrobe staples
What I love about this collection is that as well as all the gorgeous new spring shades, there are still lots of the staple wardrobe pieces that hush do so well. Lovely Steph from hush was wearing just such an item: these wonderfully flattering pinstripe Bryce culottes, which are the perfect, slouchy shape, with an easy elasticated waist (that, importantly, sits really flat) and pockets (yay for pockets!). Again I’m thinking white tee and white trainers (they also come in a black pinstripe for you fellow monochrome lovers).
Another unexpected yes from me was this playsuit – in both classic black and a really cute black floral. I know a lot of people struggle with trying to look good in shorts, and I just thought this was a super-stylish way to keep cool if you’re off on your travels this spring. Gorgeous.
I could go on and on, but I’ll let you go and discover the new hush spring 2018 collection on your own. Don’t forget to stop by the jewellery – there are some really lovely delicate pieces new for this season, and also the knitwear (love this rainbow jumper). The collection is so new that hush are still waiting for the final styles to arrive, so they’re offering all existing customers a special preview discount of 10% OFF (plus free delivery) between now and the end of the month with code S18PREVIEW at the checkout. Let me know what you love/what you order and remember to tag me in any photos! xx
Thanks to the very lovely hush for inviting me to their gorgeous event.
