Regular readers will know that I adore a Walt Disney resort hotel (click here to see my top five) and there’s much excitement in Orlando at the moment as there’s a new hotel opening very shortly. This one’s a bit different as although it’s placed within the boundaries of Walt Disney World, it’s actually a Four Seasons. The Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort to give it its full title (bit of a mouthful, admittedly) is shaping up to be an absolute beauty.
Although a stand-alone Four Seasons hotel, the property will boast many special Disney features, including character breakfasts (‘Good morning breakfast with Goofy and his pals’), a specialist Disney Planning Center for guests to receive help planning their stay, booking tickets/dining etc, and complimentary transport to all the Disney parks.
Away from the parks, the resort boasts a massive five acre water park called Explorer Island, featuring a lazy river, water slides, splash zones and other sports like table tennis and rock climbing. Explorer Island will also house a kids’ club and special gaming centre too.
For the adults, there’s a gorgeous spa (but hey, this is Walt Disney World, so kids can book in too to have a ‘magical moments makeover), fitness centre, The Oasis (an adults only pool), an 18 hole golf course, tennis courts and much more.
Guests will be able to view the fireworks at Magic Kingdom from the outdoor patio of the rooftop restaurant, Capa (billed as a Spanish influenced steak house), which looks stunning, and some guest rooms will also have views of the fireworks too (ask for park view guest rooms).
As well as Capa, there’s Ravello, which is billed as a modern Italian restaurant (breakfast is also served here), PB&G (pool bar and grill) serving burgers, rotisserie and smokehouse style cuisine by the pool, and the Lickety Split café in the lobby serving snacks, coffees, pastries and gelato.
I can’t wait to go and have a nose around! The Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort opens today, August 3rd 2014.
