Last week I was delighted to be invited to the opening of a new Dunelm superstore in nearby Aylesbury. I like Aylesbury for shopping and the little Broadfields retail park there is already one of my favourite shopping spots, with a huge Next store including furniture, and a great T K Maxx. There are also rumours of a new M&S Food going into the final empty space, which would make me very happy indeed. If you read about my visit to the new Wycombe store, Dunelm are really reinventing themselves, with beautiful new interiors and displays that wouldn’t be out of place in John Lewis or Marks and Spencer.
So what caught my eye? Well where do I begin? Let’s start in the kitchen, shall we? I loved these Jamie Oliver baking products. Isn’t it nice to see baking tins that are actually display worthy and not just boring grey?
I also love this Infinity range of copper-based pans (they also do full copper pans – you can reserve online and then collect in store):
Talking of copper, it continues to be an interiors trend, and I can totally understand why as it adds such a lovely, burnished warmth to every room. At Dunelm, I finally found the elusive copper cutlery I’ve been searching for – and what a bargain at under £20 for a 16 piece set – also some gorgeous copper cutters, far too lovely to be hidden away in a drawer, and copper candles in the Christmas section too.
In the bathrooms section, I found this lovely zigzag rug (above) and some lovely accessories featuring hints of copper with monochrome. Our ensuite is going to be dark grey, so these will definitely be on the shopping list:
Add in a great selection of lighting, rugs, bedding, and a huge selection of really good quality furniture, and it’s a lovely way to shop for everything for your home. I might have stopped by the candle section too…
And of course Christmas is coming and there was already a small selection of lovely things, making way for the huge displays to come. I was so impressed, so if you’ve got a Dunelm near to you, go and explore!
