I absolutely love this time of year: I love being able to waft about in floaty maxi dresses and flat sandals, or chuck on some denim shorts and a pretty top. I just feel it’s easier to dress when it’s summer, somehow. I’m also mega-excited whenever new collections are released, especially if they contain the above-mentioned floaty maxis and pretty tops. I’m loving everything about the new hush late-summer mini-collection. Regular readers will know that they’re one of my all-time favourite brands (my Instagram is basically just me wearing hush clothes). Everything is gorgeous (obvs), but here are my top picks:
The hush Piper dress is one of my absolute favourites. I have it in a black and white pattern and in plain black, and it’s one of the most versatile, flattering pieces in my wardrobe. It looks fab teamed simply with sandals and a denim jacket and always looks stylish (I also spotted the eternally stylish Amanda from Online Stylist teaming it with a leather jacket on Instagram last week). I’m delighted to see it back in this new collection in a black and white stripe – utterly gorgeous:
When you want something a bit smarter than shorts, a denim skirt is such a good idea, but maybe something other than the standard denim mini. I’ve been looking for a nice midi one for ages (I love the current ‘paper bag skirt’ trend, but they crease so easily) to wear with a cute t-shirt, and I think I might have to order this hush chambray midi:
Talking of t-shirts, I love this metallic stripe tee – available in a couple of different colourways (the grey marl with metallic blue is divine). So easy, and yet so much more stylish than just a plain tee:
Prints are another thing that hush do really well – never twee, always modern. The posy print (shown above in the deliciously cool and floaty Macy top) is a case in point: ditsy, but not too cutesy. If you prefer darker colours, there’s the lovely fleur print. I like this Azalea dress, in a lovely, cool loose fit with three quarter length sleeves. It’s also available in a drop waist, scoop neck version, called Drew, plus a lovely, loose, boxy fit top with a lace trim on the neck and cuff:
Also, don’t forget that there are still plenty of bargains to be had in the hush sale (search by your size), including that gorgeous yellow macrame beach dress, reduced to just £40 and still available in most sizes:
Ooh and also the mega-cute Aloha tee, which is just £20 and still available in most sizes in both colourways:
Happy shopping, and have a lovely weekend, whatever you’re up to!
