If you’ve read my top ten tips for visiting Halloween Horror Nights, you’ll know that we had a fabulous trip, and this time – thanks to Dixons Travel – I get to truly share it with you as we made our first GoPro video! Yes, there was some jerky camera work (and rather a lot of screaming) but I’m actually really proud of our Halloween Horror Nights GoPro movie. GoPro have an excellent editing app called Quik that’s simple to use and allows you to edit your movie, blend clips together and add music too.
Buying a GoPro at Dixons Travel
We reserved the GoPro before we headed to the airport and just picked it up before we travelled – it’s so convenient. Dixons Travel have a price match guarantee so they can beat online prices at selected retailers including John Lewis, and we found their staff really knowledgable and helpful too. To reserve in advance, just visit Dixonstravel.com and find the number of the store you’ll be visiting (remember to get the right terminal) – then you can check stock and reserve via phone.
GoPro HERO5 Session 4K Ultra HD
As GoPro virgins, we wanted one that was modern, great quality and really easy to use. After a bit of research, we chose the GoPro HERO5 Session 4K Ultra HD action camcorder as it’s touch of a button simple to work, plus it’s already waterproof without a case and produces fabulous 4k video. In practice, we found it great fun (we bought a couple of bits like a headcam strap and chest mount, which enable you to get some really fun footage), and we loved the fact that you can link it by the app to your phone, so even if someone else is holding it, you can control it and see live footage on your phone screen.
Here’s our first Halloween Horror Nights GoPro movie, then – let me know what you think!
