Giveaway: win a £100 John Lewis voucher with Richardson’s Boating

I always find that as soon as I return from one holiday, I start planning another.  Next year, we’re going to Brittany for a couple of weeks in the summer, and are also hoping to get away in the UK for a week.

I’ve been talking to Norfolk-based Richardson’s Boating about their fab self-drive boating holidays on the Norfolk Broads – my sister in law did this last year with her sister and family and absolutely loved it.  Richardson’s are a lovely bunch – a family-owned company, with over 50 years’ experience and over 300 Norfolk Broads cruisers in their fleet.  This means that they can provide everything from a cheerful little two bedroom boat of a big huge boat for a larger family or group of friends.

One of things I love about this sort of holiday is its low impact on the environment. Richardson’s are big on conservation and have been developing a low-wash hull, which less impact on the riverbanks, thus helping to preserve the wildlife this area is famous for. They are also introducing new, more efficient solar panels on our new boats.

So if you’re planning on a UK break, check them out – you get to go at your own pace (and yes, I asked about those of us who are slightly ‘technically challenged’ – they give you a very full and thorough demo on how to drive the boat!).

So to find out everything you need to know, check out Richardson’s Boating Norfolk Broads cruiser hire.  In the meantime, Richardson’s have given me a very tidy £100 John Lewis voucher to give away, just in time for Christmas shopping.

To enter just check out Richardson’s fleet (click link then scroll down) - I quite fancy the Ibiza – and let me know which one you’d choose!

Competition is open to anyone and everyone (vouchers can be used in store at John Lewis and Waitrose and online too). Winner will be chosen at random, no cash alternative. Competition closes at Midnight on Monday 19th November 2012.  Just call me Mrs Christmas!

*****This competition is now closed.  Well done to the winner: Emily McMillan – vouchers on their way! *****

highland gem everytime. we’ve been going on broads holidays for 9 years. we have tried several boats but always come back to highland gem. it is spacious, easy to clean with the dogs (3 newfoundlands) and quiet as the engine is outside. perfect for chillin in the beautiful and tranquil broads. booked again for next year

It would have to be the Broadsman! We could take our friends and while the men play XBox, us girls can sip champers and enjoy a good ole gossip.

I’d go for the Majestic and take my kids & my brother and his family away in it for a boozy weekend on the river (We only get to meet up twice a year so the boozy bit is a given really)!!

    The Broadland Orion.

It reminds me a lot of a boat my friend lived on when we were young(er), happy memories of too many people squeezing into a small boat!

Love the colour too, it has a sunny disposition!

WE have been going with Richardsons for many years. WE also went with Hearts for years before they closed down. If I could choose one boat it would have to be princess as I had that boat for my honeymoon and fell in love with it. Each time we go to book my son ask for princess lol

We have been boating with Richardsons for the last few years and they are the most helpful and welcoming company! We love their boats and would love to try any one of their new ones one day! Happily though we have booked Majestic Gem for next August!

I’d choose the San Diego, large enough for the whole family to have some of their own space, vital with teens, but cosy too. It leaves from Stalham, a place I remember well from Broads boating holidays in the 70′s

OMG The epitome of luxury i would pick the Broadsman 3 it sleeps 6-8 and the pictures of the master bedroom are exquisite.

I could see myself cruising down the broads on this vessel. Although my (partner and me may squabble over who’s driving)

We go most years but aren’t the richest family, that’s why Richardsons are so great as they have a budget for everyone but each year we look at Bolero dreaming so one day we will take her out. Always have so much fun on the broads xox

I didn’t know there were so many different types! I think I’d go for the Ultimate Gem so we could take my sister and family as well. We’re actually thinking about a canal boat on the Oxford waterways next year so this was a very interesting read.
