There’s nowhere guaranteed to make me feel more Christmassy than a Disney park. Disney do Christmas so well, with twinkly lights, garlands and a 24m high Christmas tree (decorated with over 1000 decorations and 500 light bulbs) and, my favourite touch, snow fall on Main Street, USA (which always makes me cry). As an added bonus, this year, Disneyland Paris will be celebrating with the cast of their blockbuster movie, Frozen.
Sweetheart snowman Olaf will be conducting the spectacular night time show, Disney Dreams! of Christmas, with fabulous lightshows, special effects and fireworks all based around Sleeping Beauty Castle. It’s my favourite way to round off an amazing day at Disneyland Paris, and it doesn’t matter how chilly it gets, the night time spectacular is always worth waiting for.
There’s also a fabulous ‘sugar and spice’ themed parade, featuring all the characters in yummy costumes, along with giant candy canes and Mickey gingerbread mice (and of course there’ll be a special appearance from a certain Mr Christmas).
As night falls, the fantastic Christmas tree will be illuminated in the beautiful ‘Magical Christmas Wishes’ spectacular, and for the first time in forever (see what I did there?) you’ll be able to get up close and personal with Anna and Elsa too. The Frozen stars will be at the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland for meet and greets every day. And talking of new princess meet and greets, fans will be able to meet Merida from Brave for the first time too – she’ll be by Sleeping Beauty Castle, at the Disney Princess Promenade.
Christmas at Disneyland Paris runs from now until 7th January 2015. Visit disneylandparis.co.uk
