Yesterday, I was lucky enough to be invited to Disney’s fabulous Halloween party in London. As you can imagine, there aren’t many parties better than a Disney one and sure enough, there were spooky drinks (served by even spookier characters), pumpkins and witches amidst lots of swirling dry ice and, of course, Mickey and Minnie in all their Halloween finery! I know you all love to hear a bit of Disney news too, so I thought I’d update you on a few new pieces of news for 2018 and beyond: from brand new Disney Cruise Line cruises in 2019 to the exciting Marvel announcement for Disneyland Paris made yesterday at Comic Con in London.
Marvel Summer of Super Heroes at Disneyland Paris in summer 2018!
From 10th June to 30th September 2018, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Star-Lord and Black Widow will all exclusively feature in the Walt Disney Studios Park for the first time. This special Marvel Summer of Super Heroes season will see the Marvel Super Heroes taking part in exciting meet and greets and incredible new shows. Also don’t forget that Disney’s Hotel New York is going to be re-imagined, undergoing a huge ‘Marvel makeover’, starting in October 2018 and will be opening up as Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in 2020.
Next up, if you’re planning on saving up to take a Disney Cruise in 2019, there are some absolutely amazing options for you to consider. Here’s my little roundup:
Disney Cruises from San Diego
Having just returned from San Diego (and loved it – huge blog post coming soon), I’m delighted to hear that Disney Cruise Line will be bringing the Disney Wonder back for an extended season from March to May 2019. From San Diego the Disney Wonder sails to Mexico with a variety of two, four, five and seven night voyages . Most sailings to Mexico’s Baja peninsula dock at the gorgeous city of Ensenada (I love the idea of a long weekend two night cruise from San Diego to Ensenada – that’s what I call a weekend away). Longer Baja cruises include a visit to sunny Cabo San Lucas, plus Puerto Vallarta and the beautiful beach city of Mazatlán. Doesn’t it all sound heavenly?
Sailings from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the Southern Caribbean
In January, the Disney Wonder will sail from Galveston, Texas, stopping in Falmouth, Jamaica and finally arriving in San Juan. From there, the ship will undertake three six and seven night sailings to the gorgeous beaches of the Southern Caribbean. On 3rd February, the Disney Wonder will leave San Juan for Port Canaveral (just an hour away from the magic of Walt Disney World Resort) where it will alternate three and four night Bahamas cruises to Nassau and Castaway Cay with the Disney Dream.
Fabulous sailings from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas and the Caribbean
Of course, what better reason to book a Disney cruise than to combine it with a visit to Walt Disney World? Amy and I did this last yearSeve and it’s just the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. If you’re planning on cruising from Florida, the Disney Fantasy will continue to sail seven night Caribbean cruises (Eastern Caribbean cruise itineraries visit the Virgin Islands of Tortola and St. Thomas; and Western Caribbean cruises dock in Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Cayman and Falmouth, Jamaica).
Gorgeous Castaway Cay
Of course, every Disney Cruise includes a day at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. I love the fact that you can enjoy a fun family day on the beach, or if you want to take it easy away from the hustle and bustle, you can head to the lovely, quiet Serenity Bay, which is adults only.
If you want to know what it’s like to experience a fabulous Disney Cruise, why not read about some of our recent Disney Cruise adventures , or see some pics from Castaway Cay. Bookings open to the public on 2 November 2017. More details on 2019 itineraries can be found on the Ports and Itineraries for 2019 page of disneycruise.com.
