October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and just to make it extra special, this year is the 25th anniversary of the pink ribbon. Breast cancer will affect one in eight women in their lifetimes, and at the moment, one person is being diagnosed every 10 minutes, so it’s really important that we all come together and raise as much money as we can. Loads of brilliant brands have teamed up with breast cancer charities to provide opportunities for you to donate while you shop, and with Christmas coming up (67 days, folks!), it’s a really good time to get a start on your Christmas shopping, and do something brilliant for a great cause. Here’s my Breast Cancer Awareness Month roundup.
Asda are always enthusiastic supporters of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their Tickled Pink range of products, and if you buy this gorgeous pompom bobble hat (available in light grey and bright pink) in store or online, £1 a hat will go to Breast Cancer Care.
Bobbi Brown have produced this gorgeous special edition blusher in peony especially for the BCA Campaign’s 25th anniversary. Don’t be disturbed by the colour – it actually creates a really pretty, soft flush of colour. It comes with a really cute pink brush too and would make a really lovely present.
Estée Lauder have produced a special edition of their iconic Advanced Night Repair, £72 for 50ml, which comes with a cute pink ribbon keychain. 20% of the RRP will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Lovely Marks and Spencer have partnered with Breast Cancer Now, and if you purchase any pink bra between now and 31st October 2017 will donate 20% of the sale. I love this one: the campaign stars real women, looking fabulous and telling their breast cancer stories (see pic, top).
One of my favourite brands, Avina, has launched a great new pink corkscrew and bottle opener. It comes with a stopper in a presentation box for £17.73 and would be a fantastic gift for any wine lover (plus, I’ve tried it and it’s a really good, solid corkscrew that’s a pleasure to use). Avina is selling the corkscrew both here and in the US, and for each product sold they will donate $1 split between two charities, a US charity called Breast Cancer Charities of America and Against Breast Cancer here in the UK. Even better news: I’ve got a special discount code for you: AVINA15F will give you 15% off on the Avina website.
Buy this lovely long sleeved t-shirt from Ralph Lauren’s pink pony range and 25% of the net retail sale price will benefit The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
And last, but certainly not least: buy these ghd Limited Edition pink blush collection platinum styler and £10 will be donated to Breast Cancer Now.
