One of the things that I’ve vowed to do this year is give credit where credit’s due and recommend a few companies and places to you that I really feel deserve it. I’m going to start off with the APH, the parking service that I use every time I go to the airport (and that was 15 times last year – can you believe that?). Here are my top five reasons you need them in your life:
1 Remember the adventure!
I think that one of the tricks to travelling a lot, and still being able to enjoy it, is to do everything in your power to take out any stress, and try as much as possible to remember it’s an adventure, not a chore. For me, this means planning in lots of small ways of removing the stress, and the best of these is using meet and greet parking at the airport.
2 Leave enough time
Sitting in traffic, nervously watching the clock and worrying whether you’re going to make your flight is the last thing you need at the start of a journey. Factor in lots of extra time (remember the shops at the airport – it’s a win/win!). With APH, I book an early time, and when I drive up to the terminal, there’s a friendly person there to take my car. All I have to do is grab my suitcase and off I go into the building.
3 Flexibility is key
If you need to change your flight (which often happens to me) or the time of your arrival at the airport, and you’ve booked train tickets, you can’t get out of them. With APH it’s as easy as a quick email or phone call and your booking is changed, no muss no fuss and one less thing to worry about.
4 Choose someone you can trust
After using APH all these times, I’ve never once had any sort of problem with my car. I’ve read all the stories about rogue airport parking companies shoving cars in fields, but my car has always been well looked after, never damaged or dirty, and never with loads of mileage on it either. This means I can travel without worrying what I’ll return to, but knowing that they’ll be there waiting for me.
5 And when things go wrong…
Last year, on a flight back from Orlando, I was delayed a full 24 hours due to an aircraft experiencing technical problems. I wasn’t able to get hold of anyone, but APH had been monitoring my flight, knew I was delayed, and safely stored my car for the extra day – no charge, no hassle, they were there waiting.
So if you’re off on your travels this year, why not give aph.com a go? They come very highly recommended (and intensively tested!) by yours truly.
