A shining star of wonderful gorgeousness

The Friday photo: lap(top) dog

Bert: easily squeezable into any spaceSo here’s Bert, then, doing a bit of blogging by the fire, while the smalls play with their new toy, a SNES that they got on Ebay complete with Mario World.  And yes, he’s on my lap, which is somewhat uncomfortable as he’s a bit heavy and somewhat bony.  Still, he makes a handy laptop rest.

I can’t tell – which end of Bert are we looking at?

  2. Susan says:

What is it with big dogs? Mine’s a rough collie and wants to snuggle on my lap at every opportunity… I think he’s seen somewhere a photo of Paris Hilton and her chihuahua, he’s gotten ideas. The last thing I need while drinking my morning coffee is a face full of fluffy orange collie hair, but he persists.

Anyhow, love the photo: it DOES look like Bert’s updating the blog for you!

Lola: It’s the top of his head and ear from the back!!

Susan: I know. Bert hurls himself at all our visitors and jumps up to lick their faces, then wonders why they’re terrified – hellllooooo, you’re taller than them on your back legs!! Ooh, I LOVE rough collies too – any photos on your blog?

Luckily I can’t see Berts nether regions this time.
We have an SNES too..its cool…who needs a wii? :D

  5. English Mum says:

Val: My lot are addicted: Xbox, Wii, PS2, PS3, DS…you name it! I like the plinky plonky music on the Mario World though. My absolute fave to watch (I can’t play at all – no hand/eye coordination) is Mario Sunshine — it cheers me right up! Yup, thought I’d published enough pics of Bert’s bits recently

  6. Jennifer (Bert's No 1 Fan!) says:

What the hell is an SNES?? Gawd am I officially not with it now?

It took me a while to figure out what part of Bert I was looking at too! I’m always amazed at how clean he is. Our little chap is mucky boy (he likes to roll in sheep poo and carry fox poo in his mouth – hmm).

  7. English Mum says:

Jenn: A Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or some such. You can just see the tiny weeny Mario running around on the screen in the background. Oh yes, Bert’s very clean. Well, he never goes out if he can possibly help it, won’t walk in mud and if he treads in a puddle unavoidably he’s so tall he only ever gets his paws wet.

  8. Jay says:

Ah, Bert is gorgeous! I love the snugglers!

  9. English Mum says:

Jay: As I type, he’s lying across me and Hubby and the laptop’s balanced on his back. I love the way he comes and stands and stares at us until we budge up enough for him to get in!! x

  10. Baino says:

At least he stands and stares! Lily just inches herself in, no mean feat for a 30 kilo lab! And your recipes are playing havoc with my diet!

  11. English Mum says:

Baino: Bert gets in them just stretches out while everyone else gets squished into the corners!! Sorry about that…did a lovely frittata last night that I must post as well – I had a salad with it if that’s any comfort :)
