So this is really cool (thanks, Nats!). What was #1 on the day that you were born? Mine was the sensational Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel, top of the charts in both the UK and the USA on that day. Hubby’s was Sandy Shaw, ‘Always Something There to Remind Me’ but then he’s, like, really old. #1 was Take That ‘Back for Good’ (great track!!!|) and #2 was Run DMC vs Jason Nevins, ‘It’s Like That’.
If you’re younger or older or from a different country you’ll have to get Googling. Come on, then, what was your Mam listening to in the labour ward?

However this is more than compensated by the USA number one on the day;- “Cruisin down the River(on a sunny afternoon)” by Blue Barron, now there is a song I can relate to!
Christ I’m old now.
LOLOL
Susan: Excellent track too. Wow, we’ve all been lucky so far. Come on, who had The Birdy Song?
Bonnie Tyler – Total eclipse of the Heart!
In The Summertime by Mungo Jerry for Himself. Which actually is quite appropriately laid back.
UK: Mama We’re All Crazee Now by Slade
My b-day is fast approaching. Wonder what the song will be this year.
Wee One: Dancing Queen!! That explains the jigging about to My Baby Just Cares for Me then. LOL!!!
Tuli: Slade? The sprogs would approve. Very rockin’!
They called me Mary!
Mary: Oh that was very contrary of them. Fnar!!! (sorry, couldn’t resist it) x
Nats: Bloody hell, you definitely got the short straw there. Although I have a strange affection for A Horse with no Name, I have to admit x
The US chart featured a comedy record ‘St George and the Dragonet’ No idea what that was like at all!
Tracey: Too right! Mad Uncle A used to go to lots of Gary Glitter concerts – a fact he now seems to be a bit embarrassed about!!
Baino: Oh, it’s a great song. There there, don’t cry *pats sympathetically*
It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to… perfect, eh?!
US – Chicago – Hard to say I’m sorry.
Thats cool I like those
Becs: Aw, Chicago, makes me all nostalgic. Blimey, you’re YOUNG! x
My brother named me apparently he liked a line in a song in the charts at the time.
