A shining star of wonderful gorgeousness

Lapdog

So a couple of pics for you this evening, then.  First up is a classic sulky Bert face, when he’s having the lead waved at him and patently doesn’t want to go walkies.  Lazy sod.

Aw, but I’m comfy…and it’s raining…

Oh, and here we are doing a bit of Ebaying.  Bert loves the laptop, we can stay snuggled on the sofa and he doesn’t have to get up, which is a bonus when you’re a bit lazy and gangly.  Hubby would like it back really, but it’s covered in greyhound drool anyway now so it’s hardly worth it.  Mind you, my birthday’s coming up and I wouldn’t say no to one of those pink Sony Vaio ones if anyone’s feeling flush?  Just a thought….

Ooh look, a Louis Vuitton, dahling…

Did Bert get retired cos he didn’t want to run? I am assuming he was a working greyhound, was he? He is beautiful.

  2. June: I think his trainer told J he was ‘too friendly’ but he certainly is an armchair greyhound – he likes drooling and watching the bunnies from his favourite chair! His sister, Lil’s Glory, is an Irish coursing champion so I think it’s just that he can’t be arsed!!

There’s something slightly Womblish about Bert – I mean that in a very very good and cute way!

  4. Con: There IS isn’t there. I think it’s the pointy nose. He has womble tendencies too: collecting things, bustling about being busy and tidying up too. Strange :0)

Awww how sweet! and too funny, I’m currently sitting on the sofa with the laptop and our wee pup snuggled up beside me.

  6. Ruth: Awww, there’s nothing nicer than a doggy cuddle. I’m currently compiling a list of ten reasons why people should adopt a greyhound, but I guess the fact that they drool on your keyboard shouldn’t be one of them! x

Looking forward to reading that! I look up the websites for a few local animal sanctuaries and notice there are always lots of greyhounds looking for a home. Makes me so sad. But love to see Bert being well loved and cared for!

  8. Taffy's Mum says:

Taffy loves his cuddles on the sofa too but William is a completely different personality. He too has wombling habits, everything is tidied to his bed (or Taffy’s depending which bed he likes the look of at the time) and he blows his cheeks out when sleeping and harrumphs (did I spell that right?) like a horse. His tail circles like a windmill whereas Taffy’s just whips you from side to side!

Here are a few of the top ten for starters:
    (1) Unconditional Love – they are always up for a cuddle (especially on the sofa!)
    (2) Eager to please – Willing to tidy up after you!
    (3) Minimal fur shedding for those who don’t like housework!
    (4) Great conversation starter when out for walks, I try to persuade anyone who chats to me to adopt a greyhound!

I hope Bertie likes pink too, his doggy pride needs to be maintained, he may decide to try his paw at blogging again after his last success?

  10. Ruth: Yes, poor J runs a losing battle trying to rehome all her greyhounds, and there are always loads waiting in the wings.

TM: Aw, glad William’s settling in. Bertie does this big long grummmppphhh noise when he lies down on his bed as if to say ‘huh, bastards, how come you can’t move up and let me sit on the sofa?’. Ooh, good start there. Our plumber came yesterday and told us that people don’t believe him when he tells them we have a greyhound in the house! I told him he’s welcome to perform accompanied tours to enable people to witness the spectacle!

Nats: Nah, he’s more into animal print (note the collar and blending in with the sofa). Yes, maybe I’ll get Berts to write it. A kind of personal insight?! Heh xx
