WHAT a weekend. We had our amazing summer sparklers party on Friday night. I am absolutely rubbish and took NO pictures, but we had such a fun time and – apart from the fact that I was an idiot and bought single cream, so my pavlova ended up being ‘deconstructed’ – it all went really well. More of this very soon! I had a complete day off anything to do with health and fitness on Friday: I scoffed pavlova and cheese and all those good things, but now I’m back on it: exercising regularly (I WILL be toned and fit by our holiday in September), drinking loads of water and looking after my body and my skin, which brings me neatly on to my EXCLUSIVE offer: 20% off REN Skincare exclusively for you guys!
The lovely chaps at REN actually sent me a fab new plumping/glow-getting/moisturising product called Flash Hydro-Boost Instant Plumping Emulsion £34 (above) which isn’t available until 1st August, but is flipping amazing – you smooth it on the skin before your serum and moisturiser, then wet your fingers a bit, then massage into the skin. It’s mega-plumping and packed full of super-ingredient Hyaluronic Acid too – I never thought I’d want to add another item to my beauty regime, but I’m a total convert. I’ll have an offer for that too – squee! – but in the meantime, here are some of my standout REN products.
The Eye Cream
Have you tried much REN? I’ve mentioned the Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift before, but it’s just so bloody good at smoothing crinkles and lifting and brightening the eye area, it’s worth another mensh. I swear by it – I think I’m on my third one now and wouldn’t use anything else. Non-greasy, smoothing and a great base for make-up too.
The double cleanse
You can’t beat a double cleanse, and every night I start with the Rosa Centifolia Express Make-Up Remover (£14) which I apply with a large cotton wool pad, pre-moistened with a bit of spray toner first (a spritz of toner helps your expensive stuff go so much further). It’s great for removing every scrap of eye make-up without irritating your eyes:
Then I use a hot cloth cleanser (try the gorgeous Rosa Centifolia hot cloth cleanser) giving my skin a proper massage (also, this way you don’t cover your lovely hot cloth in all your make up as you’ve removed the large percentage of it already – call me picky), before using the Flash Hydro-Boost and then my night cream.
The weekly skin treat
I’m also a relatively recent convert, thanks to my friend Justine, who swears by it, and has the best skin, of allotting time to have a proper skin-pampering day once a week: I start with the hot cloth cleanser, then an exfoliator (I’m not a fan of grit and love my Clarins Gentle Exfoliator £23.40) or try REN’s Micro Polish Cleanser £20, then slather on a mask and relax. I quite like a light mask and I’m loving the Aloe And Enzyme Rich Exfoliating Peel Mask from BringBeautyBack (available at Not On The High Street), which is packed full of natural, organic aloe vera, but I’ve got this REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask on my to-try list too – it’s a similar concept: a light, clear mask that exfoliates, brightens and improves skin tone.
The night cream
For a night cream, I’m currently still struggling on with my Origins Night-A-Mins, but I’m waking up feeling really greasy, so I’m not sure it’s a bit too rich for me. I’m tempted to try REN’s V-Cense Revitalising Night Cream (anyone tried it?).
